The industrial sector in Gambia faces significant challenges due to the Harmattan winds, which bring vast amounts of fine Saharan dust. This creates a critical demand for high-efficiency nonwoven filter media that can withstand high particle loads without premature clogging.
Currently, many local manufacturing plants rely on basic filtration, but there is a growing shift toward laminated air filter media rolls to provide multi-stage protection. The combination of high humidity from the Atlantic coast and dry dust requires materials with superior moisture resistance and structural integrity.
The lack of local specialized synthetic material production means Gambia heavily imports its filter media rolls. There is an urgent need for materials that balance high filtration efficiency with low pressure drop to reduce energy costs for local factories.
