Le média filtrant en microfibre de verre est fabriqué à partir de laine de microfibre de verre. Produit par formage humide, il se caractérise par une bonne répartition des fibres, une forte capacité de rétention de la poussière, une faible résistance et une forte intensité. Il est idéal pour les filtres à air. Selon leur efficacité, les produits sont classés en trois séries (ASHRAE, HEPA et ULPA).

Il est largement utilisé dans les climatiseurs domestiques, les purificateurs d'air ambiant, les filtres d'échappement sous vide, les filtres HEPA, les filtres ULPA, la fabrication de films photographiques, les composants microélectroniques (fabrication et assemblage), les cabines de pulvérisation de peinture, le traitement pharmaceutique, etc.
